Join us in a celebration of Boardman as we honor the Park's history! We will celebrate with the local Woodward Elementary 3rd graders as they honor the tradition of the Boardman School with a maypole dance and singing for all to enjoy! And a special recognition will take place for Boardman Elementary Alumni.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the celebration!
Leashed dogs are welcomed.
The Woodward Elementary 3rd graders will be performing the maypole dance this year!
This folk dance is performed around a tall decorated pole with hanging ribbons that are woven into patterns by the dancers.
The Park is the location of where the old West/Boardman Elementary School used to be from 1905 - 1979. Every year the school would put on a program including a May Pole Dance and Boardman Arts Park brought back that tradition in 2018, working with local elementary schools to perform the dance every year.
We are celebrating the 125 year anniversary of West/Boardman Elementary School by recognizing alumni who attended the school from 1905 - 1979!
Cheers our alumni with gelato as we celebrate our unique history and community!
Are you an alumni of the school? Let us know by sending an email to Rachael@BoardmanArtsPark.org. We would love to include you in the recognition!
Free popcorn will be available and the Ciao Cafe gelato cart will be available for purchase!
