The Whimsy Venue will be a 2-acre performance area on our William St. facing festival field, creating a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors! There will be 2 phases to complete the entire vision, with Phase 1 breaking ground soon!
We have been dreaming BIG with aspirations to make the Whimsy Venue a reality, and the state's $1M funding out of their one-time strategic fund is our first step to making it all come true!
These funds will go towards completing Phase 1 of the venue, which includes an iconic art-forward large stage, enhanced grounds (including wrought iron fence), and mosaic entrance off William St.
Thank you to all of our supporters who wrote letters and advocated for the Park to make this first large step a reality!
See Senator Brenner's press release on the funding here.
Thank you Senator Brenner for your advocacy! As a community member and visitor of the Park you can help us say thank you to our Senator by reaching out with a note.
An iconic art-forward large stage (50 x30) that will look like a towering organic structure growing out of the ground. The canopy will be made of colorful steel and iridescent resin. The size will support large bands, symphony, dance troupes, theater, comedy, movie screens, and more.
Thank you to artist Tony Ball with Tork Collaborative Arts for designing this beautiful stage for the Park. We can't wait to see it at full scale in the Whimsy space!
Thank you to The Delaware County Board of Commissioners for the initial grant in 2023 to kick-off the design process!
Enhanced grounds including an artistic wrought iron fence (to replace the chained link) with ornate walk-in and drive-in gates, a community designed & created mosaic entrance from William St., added parking, and landscaping & paths that connect the features of the space.
With the state's funding we are 93% of the way there to complete Phase 1 of the Whimsy Venue. If you are a business or individual interested in helping us with our funding efforts, you can fill out a Support Inquiry below or contact our Director Roxanne Amidon directly at 614 -226-8744.
