A-Mazing Garden

The A-Mazing Garden is a delightful maze for all!

About the Maze: Weave through the beautiful wildflowers by following along with stories to guide your way. Peak blooming time is late Spring - Summer.

Activity: There are three ways to enjoy!
1) Follow the brick path story to weave through the maze
2) Checkout the official A-Mazing Garden story library book with the Delaware County District Library! Visit https://delawarelibrary.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S105C3863684 to reserve.
3) Listen to all three maze stories on our YouTube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKoxv_NrsZg...

Location: In the Imagination Space.

Art Car Fun

Cruise the Paths of the Park!

About the Art Cars: Inspired by the amazing designs of That Car Art Car, the toy cars are lovingly donated to the Park by the community to be spruced up and enjoyed by little ones in the Park.

Are you interested in helping us spruce up a car? Reach out to Marcie@BoardmanArtsPark.org to learn more.

Activity: Ride in the Art Cars along the small hills of the paved path or around the loop.

Location: Throughout the Park space.

Get to know the Park - Silly, Fun Games

Play a handful of games to get to know the Park with family and friends!

  • Play the “I Spy” game with the Art Boards secured on the fence around the Park.  I Spy with my little eye: A Lion, A Flower, An Elephant, A River, A Waterfall, A Fence ...
  • Rock Stacking.  Try to stack rock 6 high, 8 high, 10 high ...
  • Gnome Village.  Count the number of Gnomes in and around the houses.
  • Boardman School. Find the number of pictures with Boardman School. Did you know the Park site use to be an Elementary school? Hint: Some are pictures and some are paintings.
  • Gnome Story Time.  Did you know that the oldest looking gnomes are the youngest, and the oldest with beards are babies?  Did you know that Gnomes sleep all day (that’s why they are always there) and go out at night doing good deeds?  Do you think the Gnomes and the mice are friends?  I think the Fairies are excellent butterfly catchers, do you?
  • Gym class.  Do a cartwheel or 5.  Do a round-off or 5 in our open space by the shaded pavilions.
  • Lip Sync Battle.  Get up on stage a lip sync to your favorite song! The stage is utilized for many performances through out the year!
  • Dance Off.  Get up on stage and see who has the best “floss” moves.
  • It’s a Bat, No it’s a Bird.  Find the Bat House and the Bird House in the Park
  • Count the Mobiles.  Find and count how many mobiles are in the trees.  Bonus in late afternoon and early morning, catch the prisms the glass balls make on the ground and trees.
  • Run.  Run as fast as you can around the full loop of the track.  If you can’t run, try walking, or walking backward.  Or count to 10 and switch back and forth.
  • Play Tag among the sails. Reminder to not climb them please. 😉 (sails are up Spring - Fall)
  • Tree Handle.  There is a handle about 8’ of the ground in the old Walnut Tree.  Run and jump, get a boost, scramble and leap.  Who can reach it...?

Little Lending Library

Stop by our lending library under the Harry Potter tree!

About the Library: The little lending library was created to fit into our Gnome Village and is open for all to enjoy!

Activity: Take a book. Leave a book. It's that simple to enjoy our lending library at the Park!

Location: Under the Harry Potter tree in Gnome Village.

Thank you to Mitchell Insurance for the donation!

Sleeping Stones

Stop by our lending library under the Harry Potter tree!

About the Sleeping Stones:  Throughout the flower beds in the park you will find smooth blue stones.  Those stones are put there by Gnomes each night and they glow in the dark.  So children that are frightened of the dark should take 1 sleeping stone home to make them feel Gnome safe.  To make them light up, you leave them in the bright sun or under a bright lamp.  When you go into the dark, they will glow white.  NEVER, EVER put the sleeping stones in your mouth, and don’t take more than 1 or the magic will be gone!

Activity: Find and take 1 blue sleeping stone that glows in the dark to help you feel Gnome safe if your are frightened of the dark.

Location: Throughout the flower beds and in Gnome Village

The Plant Library

Leave a plant, take a plant at the Delaware Plant Library!

About the Library: The Delaware Plant Library is a volunteer ran organization that created a free plant library inside Boardman Arts Park for the Delaware community to exchange plants of all kinds.

If you would like to donate to The Plant Library, please use this link: [https://www.cafcohio.com/theplantlibrary#AfiuBQ]

If you are interested in learning more and get updates on dropped off plants, join the Delaware Plant Library group on Facebook.

Activity: Leave a plant, take a plant and share the love of indoor and outdoor gardening with your Delaware friends and neighbors!

Location: Beside the stone building inside the Imagination Space.
